Rev. Dr. Frederick A. Drobin, 76, of Nyack, NY passed away on July 14, 2018 in Nyack.
He was born in Utica on September 3, 1941 the son of Joseph F. Drobin and Stella J. Gladwin (Gladysiewicz) and was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School in 1959. After graduation, Fred was ordained as a Capuchin Catholic Priest on November 8, 1969. Rev. Drobin was received as an Episcopal Priest by then Bishop Paul Moore of the Episcopal Church on June 12, 1985. Rev. Drobin received his Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary in Psychology and Religion in 1997. He practiced as a Psychotherapist since 1977. Rev. Drobin has also served as an Episcopal Priest in numerous parishes in the greater Nyack area. Prior to his Seminary education he was enrolled at Ithaca College majoring in music as a percussionist.
His survivors include his brother Rev. Paul J. Drobin of New Hartford, a nephew Alex Madeja and his wife Katie Sanoja of FL and a niece Emily Madeja and her children Stella and Henry Mollenberg of Buffalo. Also included are his numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was pre-deceased by his sister and her husband Judith and Michael Madeja.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated by his brother the Rev. Paul J. Drobin on Saturday at 11am at Holy Trinity Church, Utica. There are no calling hours. Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
